Being a transfer student-athlete, I was skeptical about coming into a new school where I did not know anyone. At my orientation, I knew right away that I was not just a number at Georgia Highlands College. The orientation leaders were awesome! I decided that I wanted to be one for the upcoming semester. I could not be more pleased with the time I spent working with GHC Student life.  Showing new students how easy it is to get acclimated at GHC brought a smile to my face. The entire Student Life staff truly is like another family to me, and being able to work side-by-side with them was a blessing.

Smaller classes and teachers who genuinely care about you are what put students like me in the position to be successful. Being on the road a lot for GHC baseball made it difficult to manage school assignments. However, all of my teachers went out of their way to help me keep up with material I missed while away at athletic commitments. For me, my ultimate goal was to attend the University of Georgia. Through hard work and teachers that were willing to work one-on-one with me when I needed it, I reached my goal. I couldn’t say that if I didn’t attend Georgia Highlands College.”
