About GHC's Cartersville Site

GHC proudly serves Northwest Georgia with five convenient locations. The Cartersville location opened in 2005 and is GHC’s largest site. Providing students with a full range of resources and activities, the Cartersville site includes two academic buildings and a student center.

The 55,000-square-foot student center is designed with a mountain lodge roofline and features a two-story stone fireplace in an open-air student lounge. In addition, the facility has a small café, a game room, a weight and cardio room, two volleyball/basketball courts, and a suspended indoor running track.

In order to meet the growing need for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) classrooms, the Cartersville Site opened the doors to its second academic building in Spring 2019. With state-of-the-art science labs, computer labs, an art studio, and a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) lab, the building provides our students and our community greater educational offerings. In addition, a ceiling to floor glass lounge overlooking central campus gives students a quiet place to relax, study, and take in the breathtaking views of the campus. A recent addition is the STEAM café that offers our students a variety of specialty hot and iced coffees and drinks along with ready-to-eat boxed lunches.

A recent addition to the Cartersville Site is the Charger Athletics complex which officially opened for Spring 2024. Home to the GHC baseball and softball team this amazing complex has top-of-the line turf fields. The Cdr. Robert Bentley USN (Ret) baseball field has seats for up to 500 fans and the Carol Brown softball field has a 300-seat capacity. Home to the GHC baseball and softball team this amazing complex has top-of-the line turf fields, a 500-seat baseball stadium and a 300-seat softball stadium. To cap off this opening year, our Chargers baseball team earned a trip to the NJCAA Division 1 World Series and ended the season as the number 3 team in the country. Go Chargers! The complex is also in high demand during the off season as a location for travel leagues. Stop by almost any weekend to take in some stellar baseball and softball games.

Located in Bartow County, students at the Cartersville site are close to wonderful vibrant communities with engaging downtowns, amazing hiking trails, lakes, sports venues and many cultural arts offerings. Known by many as Museum City, the county is home to several nationally acclaimed museums including the Booth Western Art Museum the Savoy Car Museum, and the Tellus Science Museum. Lakepoint Sports is also located in Bartow County. It includes a 1,200-acre venue for more than 20 of America’s favorite sports and is one of the largest and most comprehensive youth sports tournament vacation destinations in the world.
