Pursue Journalism

  • Journalism majors are driven to chase down and share stories with a wider community. They value asking good questions and accurately relaying information as quickly as possible as current events unfold. With a desire to have their content accessible, Journalism majors learn how to use print, audio, and video forms of media.
  • Journalism majors are required to take several Communication courses, so take one early to see if the major is a good fit. Due to the variety of applications for quality journalism, majors can cross-train across the arts, behavioral sciences, business, and cultural perspectives to prepare themselves for their desired degrees and careers.
  • This degree can be completed completely on campus, fully online, or a mix of both.
  • GHC’s Journal degree is a good first step toward a bachelor’s in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or any degree that focuses on crafting a message for an audience, including graduate degrees.
