Chemistry, (in addition to biological sciences and physics) is known as one of the three main arms of science. Known as the study of matter, Chemistry explores the properties and structures of matter. It also dives into how and why certain properties react to one another. This knowledge is highly valuable and can lead to a variety of different career paths. By following a recommended sequence of courses this pathway can be completed in 2 years. Start your journey toward obtaining your degree today.

Pursue Chemistry

  • Chemistry majors are driven to know more about how matter functions and changes, both naturally and experientially. Through lab work, they develop skills of detailed observation and analysis of information. Solid Algebra skills are essential.
  • STEM courses are fast-paced and cover a large amount of detailed material in a relatively short time. Required Math and Science courses must be taken in sequence. Non-major courses equip STEM majors with outside angles to observe and understand the world around them.
  • This degree requires on-campus classes, but some courses can be completed online.
  • GHC’s Chemistry degree is a good first step toward a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or any STEM major that requires Organic Chemistry. While there are technician careers available with an associates degree, advanced research-based or medical careers often require a graduate degree.
