Foundation Camp 2013 Kicks Off

Foundation Camp, the educational and sports-oriented camp for boys 10 - 14, began June 3 with about 75 boys.  But 120 applied for camp, and camp co-director John Hershey expects a full complement of campers in the days to come.  After breakfast and orientation, the boys began a series of activities designed for fun and learning.  This year, older campers have a separate track geared to the interests of older kids, including robotics, zip lining, tips for participating in social media and lessons as part of the gentlemen's club, which teaches ettiquette.  However, they will also enjoy a numer of sports, including soccer and basketball.

The other campers will enjoy swimming, canoeing and kayaking, soccer, basketball, tennis, anger management, physics, and the creation of a mosaic of GHC's Charger mascot.  The camp runs for two weeks, ending Friday, June 14.
