How to Recognize and Reward Good Performance

Instructor: Bill Schabel was a top ranked trainer at the Southern Company’s, Southern Company College during a 13 year tenure. Mr. Schabel has 25 years of highly successful experience helping people improve their skills in presenting, interviewing, executive marketing, performance management and leadership. He’s had participants from 250 of the Fortune 500 attend his programs. He’s presented over 2,000 high-impact programs across the United States.

The desire to be recognized is one of the most basic and powerful human needs. We all need to know what we do is appreciated. Countless books today tout the benefits of recognition. The idea’s not new. People do more and better work when they’re properly recognized for it. But giving verbal recognition is a deceptively simple task. Done wrong, it can have negative impact. And good performers often leave if they don’t get the recognition they deserve.

In this high-impact, three-hour session you’ll learn...

Why motivation doesn’t work and what you absolutely must do about it
Why, when and how to give people verbal recognition for desired performance
Some of the best ways to support employee initiative and innovation
How to maintain self-confidence and create a climate of high performance expectations
What employees really want most from management to help them succeed
A variety of “no cost” ways to reward good performance you can use right away
