FC Bytes

A Student Web Magazine of Georgia Highlands College

Issue 5, Spring 1999

(e)mission statement

Well, the time is now, and your prolonged wait is appreciated but I will insure that the wait has been well worth it. We've filled this issue with all of the raunchy, bad tasting smut you've come to associate with FC Bytes. But now you can call us the award winning FC Bytes. That's right, we are the most improved organization that Georgia Highlands College has to offer. Probably because we've just gotten started, but I guess since we weren't here last year and we're here this year…that's an improvement.

As I said before, this issue will be serving up only the finest material for your eyes and ears to enjoy. With all of the joys life has to offer why not take a walk on the wild side with us for a while. It's like driving on a road that's never ending (and you can't really remember how it began), but you know that light will soon come. What if it never does? What will you do then? "Without the eternal light, you're nothing but a yaking fool," Kerouac once said with conviction. Maybe someone will find that eternal light and lead us all to it. Maybe it's a bad thing, maybe it's a good thing, but nevertheless we'll write about it and then you'll be able to read about it. Every time we go around to provide another one of these issues, I begin to wonder how people will react to this one. Well, uproar in the courtyard with fire, shouts, and stampedes would be a different ride than we've been taking. What about a nice afternoon brunch, where everyone sits around in tuxedoes and evening gowns to come up and kiss the hands of who made this possible. I would be first in line, because right now I would like to thank all who have made this possible once again. Thanks faculty advisors, fellow editors, contributors, and readers of our work. You keep doing what you're doing and we'll keep improving, improving, and improving. Or to say the least, we'll entertain.

Sincerely,
Todd Ollis
Editor
