I, Serpentfoot, had planned to finally do this article about the great injustice done to me January 10, 1995, when I was not only arrested but also, subsequently, sentenced to 5 years in jail for speaking against prayers forced upon us in “Christian” attempts to indoctrinate, brainwash, coerce and intimidate all who exercise our rights of assembly and petition at government meetings in Rome, Floyd County, Georgia, and for two subsequent arrests when I dropped my clothes in outrage during their criminal prayers.

Those last two arrests, for the two nude protests during their criminal prayers, were AFTER they had already stripped me of all our first amendment rights: AFTER they interrupted my scheduled speech during the “public participation” portion of the Floyd County Commission meeting January 10, 1995, and falsely arrested and, falsely, charged me with disrupting their meeting-- merely because I refused to stop speaking and sit when a commissioner interrupted me, right after I began to speak, and he made an out of order motion to eliminate speakers like me who often expressed views they did not like. It was the next month (at one Rome, and one Floyd County commission meeting) that I –-HAVING BEEN STRIPPED OF THE RIGHT OF FREE SPEECH-- used body language to convey my outrage; when they started their criminal prayers, I stood with them and dropped my clothes and cried out:

Say no more:
Here is an answer to your prayers:
Behold, “The Word in flesh!”
(Meaning: God in flesh! God in person!)
That is because “The body is the temple of God.” (John 1:1)

Although I am not Christian or Jewish like the writers of that passage, the body (and heavenly bodies, in my case, like our earth, indeed the whole of all universes, and not just some limited “Holy Land” or spot but all this dust that I am and all of which I am part. This dust that I am (not Israel), being my “Holy Land” is very much like what ancient Job also expressed when he—robbed of all—poured ashes on his head. It is what we do too when we lay our loved ones in the ground, or scatter them to the universe.)-- this body is also the temple of my god, Need, Not, and Necessity, which is truly THE WORD and language that did NOT become confounded at any tower of Babel, or babble:

When Need becomes Necessity it speaks so plain and clear that even “Christians” and other fundamentalist fools know it for the final judge of all things. (Unfortunately, after the immediate crisis is over those that survive usually go back to their pastime of worshiping an alleged “God” who used to speak rather than heedingNeed that speaks quietly now in our flesh and environment.) (Only when Need becomes Necessity, only in crisis, do they notice that present voice.)

Like the Biblical Job, who ripped off his clothes and poured ashes on his head when he lost all he had, I too lost much more than the “shirt off of my back” when I was deprived of the right of speech and assembly and the right not to be subjected to “Christian” brainwashing and indoctrination at government meetings.

My PRIVATE PARTS are not limited to a “Christian” (or other “fundamentalist”) Vulva (Vulgate?), Vagina, Penis, or Breasts, but my HEART and my MIND are MINE to mold and program, not to be subjected to subliminal messages, hypnosis, or other brainwashing or manipulating by others against my conscious will. It is my right not to have to “get used to” or accustomed to, or to make a habit or tradition of having to listen to or being thoughtlessly controlled by their constant mumblings, preachings, or “prayers.” My private conversions with my God include listening, and being able to hear my innermost needs, NOT have it confounded or drowned out by the repetitions of abusive controller types. The most precious “privates” are the rights of individuals to our private property, which also includes the right to privacy and to hold our individual opinions and not be forced to listen and vibrate to the drumbeat of those who will not reason nor listen to us. (I daresay the reason they have not written any new bibles of their own about what God says (unlike myself—Check out my BAD NEWS GOSPEL in a recent FC Bytes) is that for the last 2-3 thousand years religious fanatics have not stopped their “praying” and propagandizing long enough to hear what God is saying. Prayer, like any other conversation, should be 2 sided, and for the most part private.)

Nor have they allowed us that precious silence to hear that language that is universal, not limited to Yiddish, Greek, Latin, nor “King James English,” nor limited to human nor animal sound.

That racist, ethnic cleansing, and forcing of all to one narrow mold strips us of the individual's right to be different. It strips us of that privacy of conscience which should include not only the right to a secret ballot and political opinion, but also the right not to be invaded or intruded upon in matters of love, religion, and other opinions which are our own. Being forced to observe and to have pressed upon our memory (like a virus) those private parts of religious exhibitionists violates us and strips us of that wall of separation between that which is public and that which is private.

Although I was charged, and convicted, of 2 counts of “public indecency” and 2 counts of disrupting a public meeting (for dropping my clothes in outrage during their criminal governmental prayers) and one count of disrupting a government meeting for merely attempting to speak against the prayers, in my SCHEDULED speech during the “public Participation” portion of the county meeting January 10, 1995, my only indecency (if it was that) was responding in kind to their indecency in dehumanizing me

and stripping me of human rights. I likewise saw them as “not human.” Does one hesitate to disrobe around cats and dogs? I was no more bashful about what they might think than if they were docile dogs or cats or rats peeping from holes. Nevertheless I did assume that, being creatures of tradition or habit, those dogs perhaps still retained enough of the human to be shocked speechless, or drop dead at my doing something not customary and I rather hoped to jolt them as much as they had outraged me.

“Being decent” is not accomplished by always hiding the penis or vagina or female breasts behind clothes, but decency—as shown in paragraph 1 of the Declaration of Independence—means respecting what is behind walls between what is public and what is private—not clothes but walls—walls that allow individuals the human dignity and space to be different, to be independent in a “separate and equal station.” Decency means keeping your hand off of the private parts of others: Respecting the humanity at their core, respecting their rights to privacy in matters of love or conscience in religion, politics, or other marriages or associations. That right of privacy is their private property and is not limited to the right of a secret ballot, nor to rights of speech and religion but also the right to be left alone and not be forced to listen to those who refuse to listen in return. Walls of separation are “necessary” to protect individuals from despotic hands that would manipulate our private parts, our property, our very conscience at the core, grip, bond, chain and rob individuals of liberty. As that great document states, decency requires that:

“…a decent respect to the opinions of mankind
requires that they should declare the causes which
impel them to the separation…”

I lost even more of my property than Job did: These devils attempted to drive me from my property, home, family, and friends, with banishment—as a condition for suspending the 5 year sentence. They did manage to alienate me from family, friends, and community, most of whom at least pretended to “conform” and to be Christian for business or social reasons and to avoid being subjected to more hate, ridicule, and scorn if they were seen as different from the mob. They avoided and helped ostracize me. (That being cut off or alienated from the herd, not at liberty to come or go as the individual chooses, is why banishment was always seen as a death sentence.)

Myself I see it as death to conform to their ignorance. It is like denying one's own self, like not existing if I cannot be me. Still I miss my family and friends. Yet I would not want them to suffer more to be with me. I never wanted others on my cross, but I grieve for all who do not have the strength to be different or who, like myself, suffer for being different when they are slandered, libeled by the malicious or ignorant; dehumanized, and ostracized as subhuman, inhuman, “criminal” or “evil.”

When in open contempt of court, I refused to accept the condition of banishment under which Judge Larry Salmon “suspended” the 5 year sentence, and told him that he would leave this county before I did, he chose not to attempt to enforce the 5 year jail sentence. It is like he was ashamed of it, knowing he was in grave error, and hoping I would be intimidated and just disappear. He and D.A. Tami Colston both pretended I had a suspended sentence even though they knew I had not complied with his condition for suspending the sentence. They knew I had not left the county because I did not take a low profile. Instead I had several articles published in the Rome News Tribune—one of them a 2-page 3 decade study of Floyd county's biased jury pools.

Our appellate courts are crooked too and when I lost my appeal and still refused to leave my home in banishment, Judge Salmon still pretended that I had a suspended sentence and put me in jail for a mere 3 months of it, as if that would convince me to shut my mouth and leave the county. A year later he put me in jail for another 6 months. Finally he “revoked the entire remainder” of the 5 year alleged suspended sentence. (Which was entirely wrong. I had told him to start with that I would not obey his order. He could have punished me once with the whole sentence (since Georgia Courts allow his frauds) but he committed more error in punishing me repeatedly for my one continuous contempt for his court.)

Knowing he was wrong and would be embarrassed, Judge Salmon did not want to be pushed to enforce the sentence. He did not “revoke” that “entire remainder” until I qualified to run for the County Commission. The very next day after it was announced in the local newspaper, D.A. Tami Colston was on the front page saying, “We've got to put Serpentfoot back in jail because she won't leave the county but is running for the county commission!”

They knew that as a political candidate I would get more attention, and even though they had done everything to discredit me as “indecent” and “un-Christian” they still did not want me talking about that fraudulent Forum (with a new courthouse for the judges, next to law offices of their associates-- so that local judges would go along with the fraud of spending taxpayer money for a business convention center the Chamber of Commerce wanted for the private gain of their members.)

Although the Georgia appellate courts upheld Judge Salmon's crooked order, the Georgia prison system refused to take me into custody (on technical grounds—and not that the state is any more decent or law abiding than Floyd County) but that Judge, and my court appointed attorney—which I was not allowed to dismiss—and the county Sheriff's Department held me in jail illegally for several years while concealing from me the fact that the State of Georgia refused to enforce the sentence against me. A sergeant finally showed me the communication from the state after my repeated questions about when the state was going to take me into custody (from the county jail.) (Not that the sergeant was sympathetic; the sergeant saw no encroachment of the executive branch of government upon the judicial branch when the county sheriff held me in the jail after the Georgia Department of Corrections said they could not enforce the order as written, and the judges refused to correct it, or to acknowledge any error.

Here too there must be walls of separation in a checks and balances system.

Much of the time I was held incommunicado, which impeded legal remedies; also I did not get the message that my mother died until 2 weeks after her death. I read it in a newspaper. (She starved to death and with bedsores in a nursing home while I was wrongly jailed and unable to feed her, two months after that last “revocation.”) My father died shortly after I had served the 5-year jail term. Other family members and friends also suffered from the ridicule, shame, scorn, and hate of “Christians,” merely because they were kin to me or associated with me. I would have sued the city, county, and state already if I had had any hope of justice in our courts. As it was, I was so drained that I only grieved and studied quietly for the most part, until now.

But now an impending tragedy must take precedence over the telling of wrongs done me and which sent my parents to an early grave. Now I can only put it in perspective. That destruction that came upon me and mine now threatens our whole nation. This could mean World War III. It could mean the destruction or bringing low of this nation. It will not be just other people who will suffer in the spreading idiocy, greed and hate. Already we have seen some of it in our land but worse lies ahead:

Now “Christian” “madman”, George W. Bush threatens to destroy the head of Iraq. It will also kill millions more innocent people.

George W. Bush is not really the idiot that many intellectuals and others with common sense take him to be: He knows better than to attack, or even threaten to attack
North Korea,                  China,                 Russia,                 or Israel.
He knows they have weapons and can fight back. Indeed, since they are armed, they might strike us first if Bush gets all that smart mouthed with them.

In the corporate mindset of Bush and his advisers, it wouldn't be feasible to attack them, and besides which they don't have all that oil, which he could steal so much easier from Iraq anyway. No, the best big business can get out of those nations is trade.

So George Bush treats North Korea, China, and Russia, as “our friends” and treats Israel as “our special friend”—though they, and Israel in particular, have violated far more U. N. resolutions than Iraq. Israel has also stolen weapons of mass destruction from the U.S., and has bought more with money their thieving friends divert from us, themuch abused American taxpayers.

Yes credit it to George Bush's good sense (or the corporate feasibility studies ofthose he works with) that he is too smart to threaten attacks on North Korea, China, Russia, and Israel. His “Christianity” would not hold him back but those bloodthirsty “Christian Soldiers” would push him on to more “war on evil” and also to assisting Israel in killing rock throwing Palestinian children, destroying their homes and stealing their land for Israeli “settlements”. Bush and his “Christian” supporters, like the Israelis, are eager to whip up on the helpless and defenseless to steal their oil and land--just as long as they can justify it to the American people with their lies constantly repeated on corporate owned TV.

Yet with all their business smarts, George Bush's business buddies didn't cover their tracks all that good at Enron and other corporations that get caught here and there stealing from the stockholders and employees and taxpayers who are often stuck with the bill or carrying the tax load. Smart crooks they may be, but it's sad that our nation is run by the likes of those who got caught at Enron.

And are North Korea, China, Russia, and Israel (and others) all that dumb to be taken in when Bush talks nice to them and calls them “friends”? I feel sure there are smart crooks in those nations too.

They know Bush is a liar!

If Saddam had any weapons that would destroy us
he would use them now,
BEFORE Bush SENDS BOMBS AT HIM

North Korea, China, Russia, and Israel, they know that the only reason that Bush talks so big and bad to Iraq is that he, like Israel destroying the Palestinians, and like Russia and China murdering some of their defenseless neighbors, knows he is safe whipping up or the helpless and defenseless.

But with all Bush's big bad talk about preemptive strikes, those nations that are not helpless may decide they need to make a preemptive strike of their own, and that this might be just the right time—while Bush and Israel are busy bullying Iraq and Palestine, and thinking that North Korea, China, and Russia are so dumb as to think Bush is their friend. Black as their own histories are, they may already be planning how to try him for his war crimes—knowing how he'd be with the shoe turned.

Since George Bush stole the presidency (with the help of political appointments to the Supreme Court), and since he has no qualms about dropping bombs to destroy the lives and property of millions of innocent people (none of whom were in the planes that crashed in N.Y. and D.C. and Pennsylvania) and is eager to start new wars to (1) rally the bloodthirsty “Christians” to his support; (2) help his multinational corporations buddies steal oil and other resources from Iraq and other third world nations; (3) help Israel wipe out the Palestinians and steal their land; he has every reason to believe that Saddam (and the heads of other nations) are also “evil.”

The current president of this nation has no more concern for evil or good than the officials of Rome and Floyd County, Georgia. Though Bush calls Saddam “Evil” and claims he is going to make “war on evil,” and Rome and Floyd County officials tried to discredit me, to interfere with my telling of their frauds, in each case said government officials were acting only to deceive a public they consider highly gullible (and they are right about that; Georgia's fundamentalists are at the bottom of all 50 states in scholastic scores. With this new distinction they are also voting Republican for president. But the other states cannot brag either with the way they've been voting. They have yet to enter the Age of Reason.)

These local officials pray every time they see a crowd or a camera to deceive the gullible into believing they are “good men,” so the public will not see how they have misappropriated millions of dollars to such private gain projects as the “Forum,” which was a fraud and not on the ballot of l988, and to things like the ball stadium, which was also a fraud, not approved in the unincorporated area of the county—and 3 of the 5 commissioners (the majority) are supposed to represent the unincorporated area of the county. Both projects and others were for private gain of themselves and their friends in the Chamber of Commerce—the main contributors to their political campaigns. They misappropriate our money for whatever will benefit them while real public needs are neglected—like the City of Rome continuing to pour sewage into our rivers.

Bush too has an ulterior motive in dehumanizing his victim: When Bush called Saddam “Evil,” “a butcher of his own people,” and assured “Christians” that he, Bush, was going to “make war on evil,” he was dehumanizing Saddam in an attempt to justify the fact that he, Bush, plans to drop more bombs on those same people, and kill millions more of them with more destruction of their homes and such water and sewage system as may be left after Bush Senior tore it to pieces. All of it is for the profits that big business can make by stealing Iraq's oil and putting Americans in debt for a war to benefit big defense contractors.

And on the state level, our previous Governor, Zell Miller, like George Bush, is very successful at raising money—especially from big corporations—and last year Miller stated that raising money for political campaigns had in the past made him feel like a member of the oldest profession on a Saturday night.

I don't think his confession time has made him clean yet: He still bows and sells out to Bush and his big money supporters. The present Governor Barnes does likewise, and helped cover up the frauds in the Forum case before he became governor. (See my previous article in FC Bytes: You Will Get a Baseball Stadium...”)

But it is not just in Georgia and Washington that the Chamber of Commerce and big corporations---big contributors to political campaigns—are organized and exert such control over government officials that the individual is shoved aside and democracy, our republic, overthrown, usurped by the interlopers: COMMERCE. Also the evangelical and fundamentalist churches are so organized and exert such control over government officials--contribute so much to political campaigns-- that the individual is shoved aside and democracy, our republic is overthrown, usurped by the interlopers: CHURCH.

As much as I dislike those indecent “Christian” folks who have no respect for the opinions and rights of others and are liars in calling themselves Christian when they are bloodthirsty, ignorant, proud, and arrogant-- the opposite of all Jesus was; yet I do appreciate some decent people who happen to be Christian –but who would be just as good and decent if they had been born into another belief:

I have always admired our ex-Governor, President Jimmy Carter, and each day I have yet more respect and love for that good man, that Prince of Peace. I am so thankful that he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. No one ever deserved it more than that decent Prince of Peace.

Also I have growing admiration for a long time campaigner for decency and human rights, Ramsey Clark, and his friend Serpico, for Cynthia McKinney, Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, and many others who gave of themselves in attempt to save lives of strangers when they marched for peace in front of the White House and in spots around the world last week.

I also feel a lot better about the rest of the world right now. No longer do I look at our crimes and hopelessly think how horrible the rest of the world must be because “we're the best” and the rest of the world would then be even worse than the mess we have here. Now I see that most of the voices of reason are coming from elsewhere.

Once I believed that we came here for religious freedom and to escape religious persecution in Europe and how lucky I was to be here where we are free! MAYBE THAT WAS TRUE BACK THEN, but it is not true now: now I have served 5 years in jail because fanatic “Christians” have gained control of our government and would not allow me to speak against being forced to adhere to their religion at government meetings, and these same bloodthirsty “Christian” liars (not at all like Jesus whom they claim to worship) cry out for war and profits from war—whereas EuropeNow is a voice of sanity, peace, and reason (except Britain's Tony Blair seems somehow attracted to what Bush is offering.) A friend of mine, Dr. Fred Whitehead has just returned from an international conference on free thought at the Sorbonne in Paris France, where they still have the “Age of Reason” (see Dr. Whitehead's report on his trip in this issue of FC Bytes.) whereas most of the drumbeats on our TV are bloodthirsty cries of war, it makes you wonder:

Did we get not only the poor but also every form of dregs of society? The retarded, emotionally disturbed, criminally insane? People so messed up that they'd vote for a plantation system when they are the slaves (perhaps dreaming that one day they'll be the masters so they love the system. So trickle down economics seems good to them.) Given freedom of speech and religion, how can they become fanatical “Christians” despising self-control and loving that obedience training as for dogs and slaves? Is subservience and slavery in their blood? Or are they so malevolent that they love slavery for the promise it holds that one day they may come to dominate and own others? As “Christians” they already “Lord it” over others, intimidating all the cowardly to pray at ballgames, government meetings or wherever they are caught. How did this “Land of the free” become so backward and slavish while reason is heard elsewhere around the world?

Don't tell me to go there if I like it so much!
“Christians” and other fanatics love to say, “Play it my way or get out.” I've got a southern accent; I sound like the “Bible Belt”; American; and I'm not welcome anywhere in the world! You “Christian” evangelicals, fundamentalists, and the multinational corporations robbing and killing in other nations have seen to that!

And as an independent minded true American I'm banished from here too!

This dust that I am is where I must make my last stand.

Prison walls are not sufficient to correct the evils that befall us now because our smartest and meanest criminals are not caught; they are in control of our government.Most of those in our prisons are honest people, and many retarded, who say “Yes your honor, I did it.” They have no self control; Christianity doesn't teach that; it teaches obedience to a master, so they end up doing their time, while our worst criminals make their blood-money inflaming the ignorant to spend on war.

To regain that great nation we started out to be we must again erect Wallsbetween what is public and private, separating our government from church and commerce which are criminally organized to usurp the government of the people, of individuals.
