1. When does camp start?
June 6th
2. How much does it cost to sign up?
Nothing. It is free of charge.
3. What ages are allowed to participate?
The ages of the participants shall be 10 through 16 years of age. Projects may
recruit nine-year-olds, if they turn 10 by August 31, 2005, and 17-year-olds
of they have not turned 17 by May 31, 2005.
4. What activities are involved with camp?
There are seven different sports activities: soccer, basketball, tennis,
dance, softball, swimming, and canoeing. There are also three different educational components
involved with NYSP: drug and alcohol prevention class, math/science class, and
enrichment class.
5. Is transportation provided?
Yes, transportation is provided at no cost to the camper. Buses will pick up
at strategic locations and transport to and from camp each day.
6. How many days does camp run?
25 total
7. Do campers go off-campus and if so, is transportation provided?
Campers do go off campers for swimming class and transportation is provided
to and from the pool at no cost.
8. When are physicals offered and how much do they cost?
-Cedartown/Rockmart student
May 25th, 2005 at 1:00pm at the Polk Medical Center
-Rome/Floyd Co. Students -
June 2nd, 2005 at 2:30pm at Georgia Highlands College
They are free of charge
9. Who does the camp target?
This program targets the less fortunate and underprivileged kids of the Northwest
Georgia area. It is by no means restricted to any one child. Anyone is welcome
to attend, as long as they are within age limits.
10. Do you have to attend everyday?
You do not have to attend everyday. You must attend at least one day and have
your physical and application complete to be officially enrolled. All campers
are encouraged to attend everyday because prizes are given out at the end of
camp for those having perfect attendance.
