Evaluation:        In this course you will have five (5) tests and a comprehensive final exam.  You will be allowed to drop your lowest test grade.  Your semester average will be determined as follows:

                        T + T + T + T + Final Exam

Course Withdrawal Deadline: Check the schedule or ask your instructor for the last day to withdraw and possibly receive a "W"--after this date a "W" may be issued only in cases of documented hardship (which does not include performing poorly in this class).

A grade of W cannot be assigned after midterm except in unusual cases, and then only with the approval of the Vice-President.  Any student absent more than three (3) days will not be eligible for a grade of (IP).  Please note that any student enrolled in a credit level course cannot drop a developmental course without first dropping all credit level courses.

Disability Syllabus Statement

Any student who feels they may need an accommodation based on the impact of a disability should make an appointment with the Access Center to coordinate reasonable accommodations. You are welcome to contact me privately to discuss your specific needs.

Attendance:  Regular attendance is essential.  It is recommended that you attend class every day.  Please consult with the instructor in advance if an absence becomes necessary.  If you are absent from class on the day of a test without consulting the instructor in advance, you will not be allowed to make up the test and a grade of zero (0) will be assigned for this test.  There will be NO "make-up test" and NO "re-test".

Tutorials: The Math Lab, located in the Tutorial Center in the Library, offers one on one tutoring as well as software and videos to accompany your text book. Please take advantage of the excellent services offered by the Tutorial Center if you are having any difficulties. Act promptly—don’t get behind!!

Supplements to the text:

This text is accompanied by a CD-ROM, which contains tutorials and practice problems. We will be using these in class as well as for outside class assignments.

Videos created by the author of this text are available in the Math Lab. They may be checked out as needed.
