Advanced Learning Technologies (ALT) is a division of the
University System of Georgia. ALT's responsibilities include:
- Recruitment of course developers
- Assisting course developers
- Recruitment of professors
- Maintain student contact information
- Initial contact with students before the first day of class

Your
professor is an experienced instructor from one of the 34 universities and
colleges of the University System of
Georgia. In addition to your course the professor probably
is teaching regular courses on some campus. Many of the professors
have experience teaching online courses. For others it will be their first
time. |

Your
classmates may be your next door neighbor or someone who lives at the
other end of the state. You will interact with your classmates and
professor using email, chat rooms, file exchange and a variety of other
tools provided by WebCT. |

WebCT is
a company that provides the software used to develop the courses you
take. WebCT is to eLearning as Microsoft is to operating systems. |
