Rome – July 28, 2014

The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association of the National Junior College Athletic Association held its 6th Annual All-Star Weekend this past weekend in Niceville, Florida hosted by Northwest Florida State College. Georgia Highlands College was represented at the event by Coach Brandan Harrell, Gabby Kendall, China Henderson, and Aujana Dawkins. 40 student-athletes were selected by a committee of coaches from Division I, Division II, and Division III schools to play in the All-Star event. There were 90+ nominations for this year’s All-Star Weekend. This marks the third year that Northwest Florida State College has hosted the All-Star Weekend which also includes a coaches clinic, business meeting, and the NJCAA WBB Hall-of-Fame Induction Ceremony.  Coach Harrell stated, “Due to an injury, Henderson did not play in the games but still participated in all other activities including the hall of fame banquet. Dawkins and Kendall both played well on the floor and represented GHC well off the floor.”
