Marietta - Chargers in Residence

Georgia Highlands Marietta campus has brought unprecedented education opportunities to Cobb County as well as many other unique elements. One of the things that makes this particular site such a gem is the ability to live on-campus while participating in the Chargers in Residence Program. Our ideal candidate for this program is someone who is interested in receiving the large university experience, while reaping the benefits of a smaller college. Getting involved academically and socially are some of the most rewarding aspects of the Chargers in Residence Program. This program was branded in 2011 and exists off of three major expectations. These expectations are reinforced throughout the school year through an annual convocation, residents meetings, as well as student life events.

  • The first of these expectations is that, according to national studies, students who live on campus will perform better academically than those living off-campus and commuting. Conducive with this research, we expect our residents to excel academically by building relationships with their fellow students as well as the staff and faculty.
  • In addition to higher GPAs and academic commitment, students are also expected to become more involved on campus by participating in student clubs and organization. Our registered student organization provides a diverse array of clubs ranging from leadership, religious, honor societies, government as well as special interest.
  • Lastly, the Charger in Residence program encourages leadership on the Georgia Highlands Campus as well as in student organizations. Many of our students go on to assume leadership roles in both our organizations as well as at SPSU.
