Short-term Disability Insurance

Employees unable to work due to a non-work related injury or illness may elect disability insurance from MetLife to replace income lost from not working.  Employees pay the total cost of short- and/or long-term disability insurance.

Short-term Disability Insurance
Voluntary short-term disability insurance helps protect your income in the event that you are disabled by a covered injury or sickness and are unable to perform the duties of your job.  The benefit is 60% of your income and covers up to 11 weeks duration. There is a 15-day elimination period.

Long-term Disability Insurance
Voluntary long-term disability insurance protects your income in the event that you are unable to perform the duties of your job due to an eligible extended illness or injury.  Benefits start 90 days after the disability begins and are 60% of salary up to $15,000 a month.
