Seandre Lee Signs with West Georgia
Seandre Lee, leading scorer for the inaugural Georgia Highlands College women’s basketball team, has chosen another University System of Georgia institution at which to continue her college and basketball career. Lee has been offered a full scholarship to the University of West Georgia, and will enroll there as a junior in the fall.
During GHC’s first season, she led the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.7 points per game and 8 rebounds per game. In the Georgia College Athletic Association, Lee was sixth in the conference with a 51.2 field-goal percentage in scoring and 13th in rebounding. She also averaged 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game. She was twice GCAA player of the week during the season.
UWG is part of the Gulf South Conference and the National College Athletic Association. The Lady Wolves were 16-10 for the 2012-2013 season, averaging 62.8 points per game. West Georgia was founded in 1906 as an agricultural and mechanical school, growing to regional university status with approximately 11,600 students.
Brandan Harrell, GHC’s women’s basketball head coach, praised Lee’s performance during 2012-2013. He said, “Seandre was a huge part of the GHC’s success this first season, not only by leading the team in scoring and rebounding but by being a leader off the floor as well. She is a very mature student athlete who has her priorities in order, and I expect her to have great success at the University of West Georgia.”
