Exempting the COMPASS Placement Test
Applicants with high SAT or ACT scores may exempt COMPASS Placement testing if they do not have Required High School Curriculum (RHSC) deficiencies and have the following scores.
| Area | SAT Score | ACT Score |
| Math | SAT Math 440 or higher | ACT Math 18 or higher |
| English (Writing) | SAT Verbal 480 or higher | ACT English 20 or higher |
| Reading | SAT Verbal 430 or higher | ACT English 17 or higher |
The SAT Writing score and the ACT Reading score are not used to determine placement testing.
All applicants with RHSC deficiencies must test, regardless of SAT or ACT score. Contact an Enrollment Management Specialist at your site if you have questions about whether you are required to test.
