Requester Name: Elijah Scott
Project Description: Purchase 30 Computers for Library Instruction Classroom, including projector and projection system
Suggested Date for Implementation: Jun 15, 2010
From a student perspective: How would this project provide additional student access to technological resources?
This project would provide students with access to 29 additional computers at the Floyd Campus Library. The computers would be used for a library instruction classroom, which would also be an open computer lab when classes are not being taught.

How would this project broaden or enhance the quality of the student's academic experience through the proposed technology?
These computers would allow the Floyd Campus Library to have a dedicated Library Instruction Classroom. This classroom would be used by library faculty to teach research classes for classes all across the college curriculum. These classes would enhance students' research skills and their technology skills.

How would this project integrate technology into coursework?
These computers would greatly expand options for instructors to integrate research projects into their course plans. Library faculty would have a greater ability to teach research classes to students at the Floyd Campus, which in turn would give classroom faculty greater options for integrating online research into their courses.

From a faculty/staff perspective: Will other departments be involved with this project? If so, please describe.
The library will be primarily involved with this project. However, once completed, the project will provide benefits to faculty in all college departments.

Has any part of this project previously been funded by STF?
no

If you answered yes, please describe:

Costs: Estimated Cost of Project: $42000

Are there any related or additional costs associated with the project? If so, please describe:
