Acting Workshops Begin at the Legion Studio Back to Course List Youth Workshop Ages 6 to 12 Acting Workshops Begin at the Legion Studio The Pumphouse Players are excited to announce that, beginning in September, there will be ongoing acting workshops at the historic Legion Theatre in Cartersville. These classes, to be known as the Legion Studio, will be held in conjunction with Georgia Highlands College and will be held at the theatre beginning September 15, 2012. There will be Saturday workshops for both youth and adults; the youth classes beginning at 9:00 AM, and adult classes will start at 1:00 PM. These workshops will introduce participants to basic theatrical concepts such as the terminology and technology of the theater and will progress to stage concepts such as stage movement and voice projection. The final weeks will concentrate on character development and improvisation skills. Upon completion of each six- or eight- week program, all graduates will appear in an original production at the Legion Theatre or Georgia Highlands College. The youth program is available for children ages 6 to 12; the cost for the six-week program is $200. The adult program (teens and up) is eight weeks long and will cost $250. Classes begin on September 15, 2012, and will continue each Saturday until the final productions. The final production for the youth program will be on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 10 AM at the Legion. The adult program will conclude with a performance on the evening of November 10, with the time and location to be determined.
