2008 UNDERGRADUATE TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship is open to all students who are currently attending OR who have recently graduated from an accredited two-year institution and who are planning to transfer to a four-year college or university in fall 2008. Approximately 50 scholarships of up to $30,000 a year will be awarded in April 2008 for the 2008-09 academic year. The deadline for receipt of applications at Georgia Highlands College is Thursday, January 17, 2008.
Conditions of Eligibility:

Complete freshman credits in 2007 at, OR be a recent graduate (since spring 2003) of, an accredited community college or two-year institution in the US,
-
Have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent),
-
Plan to transfer to a four-year college or university in fall 2008, and
-
Be nominated by his or her two-year institution.
The Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship covers tuition, fees, living expenses, and other educational costs for two to three years of the Scholar’s undergraduate degree. Award amounts will vary up to a maximum of $30,000 per year. The Scholarship Foundation renews awards annually provided the Jack Kent Cooke Scholar has maintained high academic performance, exhibited good conduct, made significant progress toward a degree, and complied with Foundation requirements and requests.
Application forms and guidelines can be downloaded at the foundation website, www.jackkentcookefoundation.org in the Scholarships section. While forms can be typed or handwritten, it is urged by the Foundation that forms be downloaded and completed in Microsoft Word if possible. Completed scholarship applications should be submitted to the Office of Vice President for Student Services, Administration Building, Floyd Campus, no later than January 17, 2008.
