Overview and HELP
GeorgiaVIEW Vista, a Learning Management System used in the University System of Georgia, makes it easy to include features of web-based instruction in your courses: for example, a syllabus, linked Web pages, e-mail, online testing, a gradebook, chat rooms, discussions, blogs and journals. GeorgiVIEW is a product of Blackboard, and is licensed by many USG institutions (about 34).
If you have not seen what a learning management system like Vista can do, you can see some examples of courses developed using Blackboard Vista at the Blackboard 2011 Exemplary Course site, which holds an annual competition.
GeorgiaVIEW is scheduled to be replaced by 2013, and in fall 2010, a USG Task Force was formed to examine possible replacement Learning Management Systems. The LMS selected was Pearson Desire-2-Learn. Further information about a possible transition to Desire-2-Learn or the continuing of the use of the present system will be forthcoming, pending fiscal decisions.

Instructional Resource Center staff can also meet individually with faculty members (contact Simon Grist). It is best to attend a face-to-face workshop for an introduction and general overview of GVV's features before examining the many resources available for learning and using GVV.
