The FCST 1010 course provides an opportunity for students to learn about services and strategies to help them become successful college students. The overall goal is to increase the likelihood that the students’ year(s) at GHC is successful, both academically and socially. It is designed for entering students and other students interested in becoming more effective college students. There are four main components to the course, which we believe contribute directly to preparing you for the college classroom and life beyond these walls; eFolioWorld ePortfolio, Service Learning, study management skills, and leadership. Throughout the semester you will be building an electronic portfolio to showcase your experience with a service learning project and understanding of leadership. As an FCST 1010 student, you will not only learn more effective techniques for studying, but also will explore various technology tools to enhance the study techniques you learn.
