2011 Inaugural Honors Program Symposium
The inaugural Honors Program Symposium, held on December 2, 2011, provided GHC Honors students the opportunity to present work completed as part of Honors courses over the past year. Four students participated in the competitive presentations, and the top two presenters - Abigail Sosebee and Alberto Romero, will submit their work to be considered for inclusion at the Georgia Collegiate Honors Council Conference at North Georgia College & State University.
The Honors Program offers smaller classes, more challenging coursework, increased one-on-one interaction with instructors, extracurricular enrichment opportunities such as field trips, and a sense of community to GHC's most academically talented students. GHC students with at least 12 credit hours and a 3.5 GPA are eligible to join, as are new students who have a 3.5 high school GPA with an ACT score of 26 or SAT score of 1100. The Honors Program is overseen by the Honors Committee and Honors Director. Visit their website at www.highlands.edu/honors for more information or to apply.
