Top 5 Most Frequently Asked Questions
The professor can fix link issues pretty quickly - just let them know.
2. The students are having audio/video issues - help!
If students can't transmit or receive Audio/Video in Collaborate, they should try running the Audio Setup Wizard and checking the Camera Settings. If this doesn't work, try unplugging any external speakers/cameras and running the Wizard again. If you still have no luck, restart Collaborate. If that doesn't work, restart the computer. For more information, check the Collaborate Knowledgebase. Note: If students will be attending from anywhere other than a classroom on campus - like the tutorial center of the library - they will need headphones. These can be checked out in the library.
3. Do the students have to use Collaborate from a certain place?
No, Collaborate lives online. They can use it from any computer anywhere as long as Java is working ok and it's ok with the professor.
4. Where do I the students find the link to enter a session or to watch a recorded session?
The professor/meeting leader will provide you these links. We reccomend that they post them to their faculty webpages.
5. Java won't let the students into Collaborate. What should I do?
If students are having Java problems at GHC computers, contact I.T. Students using their own computers should make sure that Java is updated. They can always download the latest version of Java for free. If that doesn't work they should visit I.T.
