
Joseph McCauley is the full-time Biology Laboratory Coordinator at the Rome Campus of Georgia Highlands College. He received a Bachelors' of Science degree in Biology with a minor in chemistry from Shorter College in 2000. He earned a Master of Science in General Biology from Mississippi State University in 2012. In addition, he has taken medical laboratory science classes, including Clinical Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology, and Immunohematology.
Mr. McCauley is responsible for managing the biology labs on the Rome Campus, as well as instruction of many sections of the labs offered each semester. Labs taught in the past include: General Biology, General Zoology, Anatomy and Physiology I and II, and Medical Microbiology. Lecture courses taught recently include General Biology (BIOL 1010) and Human Anatomy and Physiology II (BIOL 2122)

Other interests include spending time with his wife and children, reading, listening to music, and wasting time on the internet. He is an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and pulls for both the Georgia and Mississippi State Bulldogs. Joseph is also a fan of the NFL. He enjoys a good horror or thiller movie from time to time (Zombies are the coolest!). He also really enjoys watching Chopped on the Food Network. He also enjoys barbequing and grilling for both fun and competition.
