As you have started college, your friends and relatives may have encouraged you to do so because they heard somewhere that people with a college degree tend to make more money and are less often unemployed. We will explore these claims to some extent in this project.
Therefore, our research statements for this project are,
- A person’s income is a function of their education.
- The chance that a person is unemployed is related to their educational level in a way that can be considered a function.
To examine this statements further, we will use a graph titled education pays from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics found at http://www.bls.gov/emp/ep_chart_001.htm
Your task is to prove or disprove each of the statements using the concepts presented in section 1.1 to 1.5.
For each statement, you must apply one concept covered in each of these five sections and use it to prove or disprove that statement. Note, you must use a unique set of concepts in each of your essays. That is, if you use the concept of domain and range to address statement 1, you cannot use the same concepts to address statement 2. Therefore, you will have ten unique concepts presented within your paper.
