Sherry A. Green, Ed. S.

Assistant Professor of Education

Welcome to my GHC Education website. I am excited that you have chosen to seek information about our Education program and am happy to provide you with some information for you to consider.  We are a small, diverse, and progressive multi-campus institution of higher education with professors who are interested in students' success.  We stand ready to assist you in navigating the college experience through personal relationship building, small class sizes, and student support services.

We offer multiple Associate Degrees in Education and these can be located in the GHC catalog on the GHC home page.  Early Childhood, Middle Grades, Secondary Education, and Physical Education are among our most popular degree/transfer programs. The requirements for each of these programs are outlined within the context of the catalog. Each Education course (EDUC prefix) does require a Field Experience observation in an educational environment. There are 3 required courses: EDUC 2110, EDUC 2120, and EDUC 2130 with each course requiring a Field Exerience as part of your Teacher Preparation Program.

Students can take classes in a Face-Face format with classes meeting 2 days a week for 1 hour and 15 minutes, and can take web-based classes taught by GHC professors with no campus visit requirements.

Should you need additional information, please feel free to contact me at

I stand ready to assist you with questions regarding our exciting programs and helping to prepare you for the awesome field of Education!

NEW COURSEGHSS 2901 Introduction to Bullying (Web-Based) is now being offered!  Please consider registering for this course as bullying is one of the most critical issues in Education today.  This course meets your Area B elective requirement.

Professor Green is married to Randy Green, GHC Instructor of Political Science and Criminal Justice on the Rome campus and web-based.
