Information about PSYC 2103 and PSYC 2165 web-based classes

Both of these classes require weekly reading assignments and online assignments. In the summer these classes are fast paced so students shoulld be sure to have at least 8 -10 hours a week to dedicate to this class.

ORIENTATION INFORMATION: These classes require completion of an online orientation module. The Online orienation module will be found in D2L course listing. Students will need to complete all tasks in the module durring drop/add to stay in the course.

EXAM INFORMATION:  Starting in Fall 2013 students should expect to complete at least one exam at a GHC campus of their choice. If a student is unable to attend a GHC campus for their exam, the student can contact a testing center at a college that is closer to their location to coordinate a proctored exam at that location. However, the student should note they are responsible for the coordination of their proctored exam and will need to provided the instructor with contact information of the proctoring institution so arrangements can be made. These arrangements should be made early in the semester and the student is responsible for any fees associated with the testing center. Note: For summer 2013, students will be able to complete exams online, without coming to campus.

TEXTBOOK INFORMATION: Students should be sure to have the book purchased prior to the start of the semester so thery are sure not to fall behind. Book information can be found below.

PSYC 2103 - The text for Human Growth and Development is John Santrock's "Essentials of life span development" 2nd edition. Additionally students will need a connect access code for the text. The campus bookstore will have a bundle that includes the text book, the connect access code, and the ebook. Students can also purchase the access code directly from McGraw Hill for apporximatly $30 at the beginning of the semester, information will be provided in the online orientation module. Students interested in an ebook can also purchase a ebook and connect combination package online, this information will also be provided in the online orientation module.

PSYC 2165 - The text for Abnormal Psychology is  "Abnormal Psychology: Clinical Perspectives on Psychological Disorders" 7th edition by Whitbourne. Additionally students will need a connect access code for the text. The campus bookstore will have a bundle that includes the text book, the connect access code, and the ebook. Students can also purchase the access code directly from McGraw Hill for apporximatly $30 at the beginning of the semester, information will be provided in the online orientation module.
