Admissions - Move on When Ready

The Move On When Ready (MOWR) Program is designed for high school students who are capable of entering college while still completing high school coursework and requirements. Students must have approval from their high school counselor and their parents. Please seek approval from your high school counselor before beginning the application process. It is important to note that the MOWR program covers tuition, most fees, and books. Some fees, such as a Science lab fee or online course fee, are the responsibility of the student!

Admissions Requirements

  • Permission from parent/guardian and high school counselor

9TH GRADE LEVEL

  • Minimum high school GPA 3.75 in core classes as calculated by the college
  • SAT combined score of 1500 or minimum ACT composite score of 33. Applicants also must be exempted from Learning Support by meeting or exceeding the minimum SAT Verbal/Critical Reading score of 480 and SAT Mathematics score of 440, or applicants must meet or exceed the minimum ACT English score of 20 and ACT Mathematics score of 18. 

10TH GRADE LEVEL

  • Minimum high school GPA 3.5 in core classes as calculated by the college
  • SAT combined score of 1250 or minimum ACT composite score of 27. Applicants also must be exempted from Learning Support by meeting or exceeding the minimum SAT Verbal/Critical Reading score of 480 and SAT Mathematics score of 440, or applicants must meet or exceed the minimum ACT English score of 20 and ACT Mathematics score of 18. 

11TH & 12TH GRADE LEVEL

  • Minimum high school GPA 3.0 in core classes as calculated by the college
  • SAT combined score of 970 or minimum ACT composite score of 20. Applicants also must be exempted from Learning Support by meeting or exceeding the minimum SAT Verbal/Critical Reading score of 480 and SAT Mathematics score of 440, or applicants must meet or exceed the minimum ACT English score of 20 and ACT Mathematics score of 18. 

 

Steps to Enrollment

Step 1 Complete a GHC admissions application
Step 2 Request that official high school transcripts be sent to GHC
Step 3 Request official SAT or ACT scores sent to GHC*
Step 4 Complete MOWR consent form found under Admissions Forms
Step 5 Applicants who seek to be classified as in-state for tuition purposes, will be required to provide validation of residency and lawful presence in both the State of Georgia and the United States
Step 6 Have your health care provider complete the GHC Certificate of Immunization Form
Step 7 Online MOWR application submitted electronically through www.gafutures.org
Step 8 Contact a GHC MOWR advisor to address questions and concerns

 

*Students CANNOT take the Compass exam for the MOWR program.
