The Ga. Highlands College Library seeks a motivated public services librarian with strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will participate as an integral member of the library team. The position is a full-time 12 month non-tenure track faculty appointment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Successful candidate must provide library instruction, reference services and serve on faculty committees. The position involves providing instruction to faculty classes (in library, by distance, or in classroom) on how to use library resources for research. Candidate must develop and teach non-credit courses and workshops for librarians, students, faculty and staff as well as participate in campus wide information competency assessment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate must have a Master’s degree in Library and/or Information Service from an ALA accredited school. Experience with Galileo, GIL (Voyager), and GIL Express preferred. Good communication and interpersonal skills necessary and experience with the public/customer service preferred.
DESIRABLE SKILLS: Academic library experience and working knowledge of basic reference sources as well as demonstrated familiarity with search strategies for electronic information resources and the Internet. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, strong public service orientation, and knowledge of automated library procedures are desirable.
SALARY RANGE-- In the low forties -- Depending on Experience
