Purpose

In accordance with our institutional and unit mission, the OIEPR exits to oversee college-wide institutional effectiveness, planning, and assessment and evaluation efforts. Our services are designed to help all areas of the institution become more effective in their day-to-day functions. Thus, the OIEPR exists for the following purposes, to:

1. Support the mission, purpose, and philosophy of Georgia Highlands College;
2. Assist with the development and maintenance of a comprehensive plan for the College;
3. Supporting the College planning, assessment, evaluation, and improvement efforts;
4. Assist in designing, implementing, directing, and modifying the assessment system for the College;
5. Coordinate the identification and evaluation of the College's Performance Indicators;
6. Maintain the integrity of institutional data and information used for reporting institutional progress toward achievement of     goals;
7. Coordinate the flow of management information for informed decisions, planning, assessment and evaluation, and policy     development both within the College community and to external agencies;
8. Initiate and implement research and to compile and interpret institutional data;
9. Serve as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) liaison; and
10. Provide consultation, and assistance to various areas of the College community with their planning, evaluation, and      research and reporting needs.

NOTE: The Institutional Effectiveness Committee directs policies and procedures that assess effectiveness of student learning and college programs and services.
