Widgets
On your My Home page, you will see five blue bars under the page title. These are called widgets. Widgets used on your My Home page and on Course Home pages.
Widgets do things like displaying news, updates or events in your courses or allowing you to change your preferences for how D2L looks.
There are five widgets on your My Home page (Fig 1).

Opening and closing widgets
- To open a widget, click the button next to the widget title. In Figure 2, the News widget has been opened and it expands to show its content.
- To close a widget, click the button again.
You can leave widgets open or closed, and when you log back in, the widgets will stay how you left them. For example, you might want to leave the News, Events and Updates widgets open to monitor new information in your courses.
