My Home
After you have logged in, the next page to appear is the My Home page (Fig 1). The My Home page is where you get news updates, check D2L email and calendar, and access courses that use D2L.

My Home
The My Home page has a navigation bar at the top (Fig 2). The same navigation bar appears at the top of every page in D2L.
You use the navigation bar to:
- Check Email from any course in which you are enrolled
- Check the Calendar for important dates.
- Access Galileo
- Check the D2L Maintenance schedule to see when D2l is unavailable.
- Get help with D2L tools (Chat, Discussions, Dropbox, etc.).
- Log out

You can get to the My Home page from any place in D2L by clicking the My Home button on the left of the navigation bar. You will do this, for example, to switch from looking at one course to another one (more about this in the next section).
In the main part of the My Home page you will see five bars, which you can expand or close by clicking the small grey button right next to the title. These are called "Widgets" and you will see how they work in the next section.
