REQUESTING SERVICES

Students wishing to request accommodations must do so according to the following guidelines:
  1. NEW STUDENTS must self identify and provide documentation of the disability from a qualified professional. Once accepted into Georgia Highlands College, this should be done as soon as possible.
  2. NEW STUDENTS needing assistance obtaining interpreters/captionists, texts in alternate media (such as Braille), arrangements to accommodate personal attendants, and use of special equipment must request services ONE SEMESTER PRIOR to anticipated enrollment.
  3. RETURNING STUDENTS needing assistance obtaining interpreters/captionists, texts in alternate media (such as Braille), arrangements to accommodate personal attendants, and use of special equipment must request services DURING EARLY REGISTRATION.
  4. ALL STUDENTS must request an accommodation letter and supply the Access Center with their class schedule during registration or during the first two weeks of classes each semester
  5. Students with disabilities must contact the Access Center and set an appointment to meet with an Access Center staff member to begin the documentation approval and accommodation process. Please contact the Access Center at the campus location you plan to attend:
