FCST 1020
Career Choices and Decision MakingFCST 1020 is a two-hour elective course that is an institutional recommendation outside of the core curriculum. It is designed for those not yet decided about a program of study, or for those who want to validate their career choice.
As a result of this course students should be able to:
- Understand the basic components of the career exploration process
- Relate their assessment results to specific programs of study and occupations
- Access a variety of career-related resources on the Internet
- Develop a career/life plan
- Produce a resume and prepare for an interview
- Understand the job market and trends in employment
- Utilize their long range advising plan to meet their academic goals
- Understand the various theories of Occupational Choice
