Career
Self-knowledge (Who am I?) and awareness (What are my choices?) are the keys to making good career decisions. Several assessment instruments, including some computerized ones are utilized to help students with career exploration. These instruments provide very detailed information regarding occupations, degree programs and colleges within the state.
Several computerized assessments are available to currently enrolled students. Both require a password. Contact the Counseling and Career Services Department for details on obtaining the password.
Choosing a Major/Career
Choosing a major is a difficult decision. While some majors correlate directly with a specific career path i.e. Nursing, Education and Accounting, other majors are designed for you to have broad knowledge in many subject areas and are not geared towards a specific occupation. The decision of what to do with the degree is left up to you. Examples of such majors include: Psychology,English and History just to name a few.
