Book Buy Back Process

The bookstore uses the book buy back process as a resource for stocking the bookstore for the next semester. Textbooks that are adopted by the instructors for the next semester, and for which the bookstore needs stock, will be bought back at 50% of the retail price of the book. A representative from a book wholesale company will purchase these books for the store. Any books that are not being used again but have value to the wholesale companies will be purchased at a rate determined by the market for the book. Buy backs are held at the end of each semester during final exams and during the first week of classes each term. The buyer is located at a table on the sales floor of the bookstore.

Refund Policy

Any student who drops a class within the first two (2) weeks of a quarter will be given a 100% refund on new textbooks that are in mint condition. If the book is defaced in any way (written in, cover bent or scratched, dirty pages, etc.), the refund will be equal to that given for a used textbook. After the first two weeks of class, the refund rate is 75% of purchase price and the same conditions apply for defaced books. At mid-term, the refund rate drops to the rates used for book buy back.

A receipt for the purchases is required for a refund. This rule also applies to students with grants or scholarships. Students using grants or scholarships who completely withdraw from school before the end of the first three (3) days of class should return their books before they complete the withdrawal process.
