| As Vice President, he is responsible for the leadership of Enrollment Management (Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Records, VA), Counseling and Career Services, ACCESS Center (Disabilities Support Services), and Student Life. Dr. Shade comes to Georgia Highlands College effective August 1,
2004 from Dean of Student Services at Kingwood College, Kingwood, Texas.
He also served as Vice President for Student Services at the St. Charles
County Community College, St. Peters, Missouri from 1987- 1998. Prior
to that time he served as Dean of Student Services at Lincoln College,

Prior to 2004, Dr. Shade had been Dean of Student Services at Kingwood College (North Harris Montgomery Community College District), Kingwood, Texas. He served as Vice President for Student Services at St. Charles County Community College, St. Peters, Missouri, 1987-1998. He was Dean of Student Services at Lincoln College, Lincoln, Illinois, 1983 - 1987. Early in his career he held positions as Research Assistant/Community College Liaison, Director of Financial Aid, and was a Counselor/Teacher/Coach at Palestine High School, Palestine, Illinois for two years. Dr. Shade is active in several professional associations: National Council on Student Development (AACC Affiliate); American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers; Texas Association of Community College Chief Student Affairs Administrators; and Texas Community College Teachers Association. Special Accomplishments: Helped launch and establish a state-of-the-art community college in St. Charles County, Missouri; elected as president, secretary, treasurer and regional representative of the AACC National Council on Student Development; member of the AACC Council of Chairs; president of the Missouri Council of Community College Chief Student Affairs Officers; president of the Texas Association of Community College Chief Student Affairs Officers; established an NJCAA Division I athletics program; played college football (on scholarship) and soccer at Illinois State University; played semi-pro baseball in Melrose Park, Illinois.
