Financial Matters, Books, Housing, and Disability Support

  • Paying for Classes at Georgia Highlands College
Payment for ATP classes must be made to the Business Office at Georgia Highlands College.  The easiest way to pay for a semester's classes is to bring the payment with you to Orientation (for fall semester classes) or to advising (for spring and summer classes).  Representatives from the GHC Business Office are on the West Georgia campus at those times.  The Business Office at the University of West Georgia cannot accept payment for Georgia Highlands classes

Other payment options for GHC classes are explained here.

A fee schedule showing the cost of classes for ATP students appears here.  Costs are shown for both in-state and out of state students.

If you contract with the University of West Georgia for housing and meal plans, THOSE expenses are paid to the University of West Georgia Business Office because the contract is directly with UWG.  See Housing for ATP Students at the University of West Georgia for more information.

  • Financial Aid at Georgia Highlands College
As an ATP student, you are a student at Georgia Highlands College, so all financial aid applications, awards, and questions must be undertaken through the GHC Financial Aid office.  The Financial Aid Office of the University of West Georgia will not be able to assist you because you are not yet a student at UWG.

The GHC Financial Aid office issues notifications via e-mail more often than by phone since the information that the office can release is strictly limited by federal regulations and the staff cannot verify your identity by phone.  Similarly, if you use your GHC e-mail account in order to correspond with them, they can more readily provide you with information because the school issued that e-mail account to you and keeps it secure.  To call them, dial the 800 number for GHC (800-332-2406) and ask for Financial Aid.  To send e-mail, use the following address: finaid@highlands.edu

In addition, the Financial Aid office provides status updates that can be viewed via the SCORE, GHC's online information system.  Make it a priority to log in to the SCORE regularly to check on financial aid status.

  • Georgia Highlands Bookstore Site for Rome, Heritage Hall, and West GA ATP
Books for courses offered in the Accelerated Transfer Program can be purchased at the GHC Bookstore on the Floyd campus or online via the link above.  Books for GHC courses at NOT available at the University of West Georgia Bookstore.  If you cannot find the Course Reference Number (CRN) for your course in the listing on the bookstore site, call the ATP office at the number shown above.

  • Housing for ATP Students at the University of West Georgia
    Look here for information about
    • getting into a dorm at UWG
    • keeping up with key dates and activities if you are already in a dorm
    • paying for housing and meal plans

  • Access Center at Georgia Highlands College
If you have a disability (physical disability, learning disability, other disability), Georgia Highlands can provide some accommodations for you.  Contact the GHC Access Center (not the UWG Student Development Center) to get accommodation paperwork to share with your instructors.  Accommodation is provided for those who have paperwork, so take the necessary steps to get what you need.
