It's Official
The former North Metro Technical Institute is now officially North Metro Technical College. Watch for the announcement of the formal celebration that will be held later in October.
Party Time!
The GALILEO Birthday Party sponsered by the North Metro Tech/Floyd Media Center will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. There will be door prizes, food and more so stop by and celebrate with us.
What term is it?
While it's Fall Semester for Georgia Highlands College students, our librarians at this campus serve students and faculty of both institutions. The 971 students enrolled for Summer Quarter will finish classes September 19. Floyd students started Fall Semester on August 21. NMT has the second highest enrollment of all campuses—5ll. If that's not complicated enough, Georgia Highlands College also has a cooperative arrangement with the Cartersville High School Library where classes began August 7. Cartersville High School Librarian, Ms. Pat Turner welcomes Floyd students during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Floyd librarian, A. J. Knight, provides service to “all patrons” on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. All patrons have access to the full array of services including the print collection, computers with Internet access and GALILEO training. Don't be confused by the different sessions or even the use of Media Center by NMT and CHS and Library by Georgia Highlands College. Just come on by and service-oriented librarians are ready to assist you with your information needs.
Book Swap
Need a good mystery to read on a Sunday afternoon? Check the Book Swap Cart in front of the Media Center. Take one to read, bring it back or bring another one. They are there for your entertainment.
Are we fit yet?
Thanks to Nada Aswad, ten Georgia Highlands College faculty and staff members have signed up for the Fitness Incentive Team. Bridgette Stewart came recently to explain the program. We're fired up and on the road to better health.
Library Hours
The hours for the fall semester are: Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, Thursday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
