Every library is unique. Ours reflects the history, present and future of Georgia Highlands College. The present collections at the Floyd and the Cartersville campuses contain books, magazines, videos, electronic sources with the equipment to use them, and other media to support the courses taught at all of our campuses. As programs and courses are added or changed to prepare students for the future, we try to collect material to support the cirriculum and the people who study and work here. We currently provide and maintain a collection of nearly 70,000 books, approximately 35,000 electronic books, 250 magazines, journal and newspaper titles, and thousands of tapes and videos. GALILEO, a service of the University System of Georgia, provides online access to more than a hundred databases, which enable our students to be at the forefront of this information age. Faculty and students of Georgia Highlands College have access to the circulating collections of all University System of Georgia Libraries through the Galileo Interconnected Libraries (GIL) project. The library buildings on the Floyd and the Cartersville campuses contain the most current technological equipment and services to provide all students access to the Internet and the many software programs they will need in their studies here.
In addition to the Floyd and the Cartersville campuses, we play an active role in Georgia Highlands College's outreach programs. We maintain a smaller collection for students through cooperative agreements with North Metro Technical College . Any student can use all the Library materials on any campus through interlibrary loan.
