Georgia Highlands College Is Pleased To Announce Scholarship Opportunities

Imagine being able to travel, study in a foreign country, earn college credit, and gain a knowledge and understanding that could only be acquired by living, learning and experiencing a different culture. This is studying abroad. In order to assist students with their financial needs, GHC is please to offer two scholarships opportunities.

The Jim and Ida Cook Scholarship is intended to enable a GHC student to travel and study outside the United States. Scholarship awards may range from $500 to $1000 but will not cover more than 50% of the cost of the study abroad experience. In order to qualify for this award you must be a GHC student in good academic standing with plans to study abroad. Interested students should submit a short essay that describes how the scholarship will benefit participation in a study abroad trip scheduled for summer semester. Applications should also contain a letter from a GHC faculty member that recommends award of this scholarship. Students may apply money received from the Jim and Ida Cook Scholarship to any study abroad program offered through Georgia Highlands College or listed in the current catalog of available programs offered through the University System of Georgia’s Office of International Education.
