Life at Saint Petersburg State Polytechnical University

“Being in the same class as some of the Russian students really helped to broaden my perspective on the world. I never knew there were so many sides to an issue before.”  -Jacqueline Fisher, Bainbridge College.

The host campus for the four week program is the international division of the Saint Petersburg State Polytechnical University. Located adjacent to the main campus, the international facility is comprised of a nine story dormitory and classroom complex. Included in the building are computer laboratories, cafeteria, kiosk, ATMs, laundry mat, and other amenities. Recently remodeled dormitory rooms provide housing in a traditional suite configuration. Each suite contains two bedrooms, a kitchen area, and bathroom. Each class meets twice a week for lectures and once for a fieldtrip that reinforces the material in the lectures. Russian students volunteer their time to serve as tutors to the American students. The Russian tutors willingly assist the American students with everything from navigating the city to shopping and introducing them to the nightlife. (more)
