August
- October Abundant, shallow, fast
moving water is the basis of a thriving wetland ecosystem.
The Wetlands Nature Reserve is wetter than ever after Floyd County finally received
an above-average rainfall in late June. Great weather for ducks... or for human
visitors. Visitors from a local Rome middle school study the vegetation on a Fall
day from the boardwalk. Geese
generally migrate, but some choose not to leave Paris Lake and the nature preserve
and remain for the summer.
