Dr. Jeffrey Linek is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Georgia Highlands College.  He holds degrees in mathematics from Vanderbilt University (B.S.) and the University of South Florida (M.A.).  In addition, he holds an Ed.D in higher education from Nova Southeastern University.  He has taught college level mathematics courses for over twenty years, and has developed and taught distance learning courses in statistics for over twelve years.   Dr. Linek has made presentations related to teach with distance learning technology at several local, national, and international conferences.  His professional and research interests include the development and implementation of a case study approach to teaching mathematics.  When he is not teaching, he enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time with his family.  He has hiked in the Great Smokey Mountain, Arcadia, Grand Teton, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon National Parks along with many state parks from Maine to Florida.
