Often teachers are
asked questions like, “What does it take for me to do well in your class?”
In short, successful
students will:
-Be fully aware of all
information on class syllabi
-Come to class
regularly and on-time
-Complete all
assignments and turn them in on-time
-Do all assigned
reading on-time
-Be attentive and take
good notes in class
-Participate in class
discussions
-Carefully read and
follow all directions
-Ask clarification
questions and seek extra assistance when needed
-Prepare well for exams
-Notify a teacher, in
advance if at all possible, when the student must be absent
-Maintain academic
integrity, doing all their own work instead of choosing to cheat or plagiarize
If students do all of
the above, then they are doing their BEST to succeed.
When that is true,
instructors will be able to do their best to facilitate that success.
If students need help
outside of class, in addition to talking with
instructors,
the GHC Tutorial
Centers are tremendous resources.
Centers are in the
Floyd and Cartersville campus libraries, and online at
