Drawing 1 - Limited depth still-life example

Limited Depth Still-life

Spread a number of small objects on a table top. Stand over the objects, so that you are almost looking directly down on them.  Place your drawing on the table so that the plane of the table and the plane of the paper correspond. Your assignment is to re-create the feeling of limited depth you observe from the table top.

  • Do not overlap any of the objects
  • Avoid using atmospheric perspective
  • Try to focus on the literal flatness of the picture plane
