Outcome Assessment: Selected education majors in EDUC 2103 will teach a lesson to elementary-age children which will be evaluated using a rubric with the possible score of 50.

 

 

 

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Performance Target: 85% of selected education majors will score a minimum of 46 out of 50 points on the rubric.

 

Secondary Performance Target: 80% of said education majors score a minimum of 7 out of 10 points on a self-assessment rubric.

 

 

 

 

 

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):  No data collected.  Due to the lack of funds for transportation to the college, there were no elementary school students available to complete the assessment.

Outcome Assessment: Students in EDUC 2103 will write five complete three part objectives suitable for a lesson plan, which will be scored using a rubric.

 

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Performance Target: 80% of education students will score at least 4 out of 5 points on the given rubric by correctly writing a complete objective.

 

Secondary Performance Target: 90% of education student’s objectives will correctly label the condition, behavior and accuracy of each objective.

 

 

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results): 

Primary Performance Target:  52% of EDUC 2103 students (61% Floyd; 50% Cartersville; 20% Marietta) scored at least 4 out of 5 points on the rubric by correctly writing a complete objective.

 

Secondary Performance Target:  54% of EDUC 2103 students (65% Floyd; 50% Cartersville; 20% Marietta) correctly labeled the condition, behavior, and accuracy of each objective.

Recommended Actions:

Part-time faculty need to be given information on objective writing to ensure continuity among all campus and instructors.

Outcome Assessment: In PSYC classes, students will answer specific questions (from the Berger Text Test Bank) on their final exam that require an understanding of factors that impact a child’s ability to learn.

Performance Targets: 

Primary Performance Target: 75% of education majors will answer the selected questions with 80 % accuracy.

 

Secondary Performance Target:  No Secondary Performance Target was designated.

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):

Primary Performance Target:  89% of education majors (91% Floyd; 77% Cartersville) answered the selected questions with 80% accuracy.

Expected Outcome: Students will identify exceptionalities found in school age children and learn the process of making a referral to special education services.








Outcome Assessment: In EDUC 2104 classes, students will read descriptions of children with exceptionalities and identify the disability.

Performance Targets: 

Primary Performance Target: 80% of EDUC 2104 students will identify 8 out of the 10 exceptionalities.

 

Secondary Performance Target: 80% of EDUC 2104 students will correctly place in order the steps needed to make a referral to special education services.

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):

Primary Performance Target: 70% of EDUC 2104 students identified 8 out of the 10 exceptionalities.

Secondary Performance Target:  53% of EDUC 2104 students correctly placed in order the steps needed to make a referral to special education services.

Part-time faculty need to be encouraged to participate in assessing students.  Add one additional lecture on the process of placing students into the system of special education.
