Unit/Team Goal: The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) promotes economic development to the small business sector through one-on-one consultations, continuing education seminars and research activities.

 

 

 

 

 

Expected Outcome: The SBDC will meet or exceed the ASBDC goal of 7 hours average of contact and prep time per client showing the use of more in depth consulting practices.

 

 

 

 

Outcome Assessment: Use the SBDC CIS system to enter and track all contact, prep and travel time used in consulting activities. Use the consulting status reports to determine the average hours per client, contact and prep.

 

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Target: The SBDC will provide an average of 7 hours in contact and prep time per client over the course of a year.

 

 

Secondary Target:

 

 

 

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results): The Georgia Highlands College SBDC averaged 6.63 hours per client in contact and prep time over the 12 month period.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Recommended Actions: A plan is in place to work with existing business clients that need more in-depth consulting services and seek out the referral sources to achieve this goal.

Expected Outcome: The SBDC will provide training and consulting to business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in our service territory.

 

 

 

 

Outcome Assessment:  Use of the SBDC CIS system to enter and track consulting activities and generate consulting status reports from the system.

 

 

 

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Target:  The SBDC will achieve an existing to pre-venture ratio of at least 67% to 33% for their clients.

 

 

 

Secondary Target: The SBDC will meet with at least 200 business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.

 

 

 

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):

Primary: The existing to pre-venture ratio was 66% to 34%.

 

Secondary: The Georgia Highlands College SBDC met with 194 clients.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Recommended Actions: The SBDC has begun to network with the referral sources to get a greater number of existing business referral.
