Children exam, an exam which gives individual and group student data, the
national average, at risk score, and high risk score. |

Maternity and Children national exam will be at or above the national average
score on the exam. Secondary Performance Target: None specified. |

(Performance Results): Primary Performance Target: The group average on the ERI Maternity and Children exam
taken in 2006 was 64. At Risk Score of 58 The national average was 63. Secondary Performance
Target: NA |

Recommended Actions: Primary Performance Target: Target not met. The
Scores on the exam will continue to be monitored since in 2005 the group
average 62 which was below the national average of 71 and the At Risk Score of

Outcome Assessment: In NURS 1101 students will be tested on nutrition
content as it relates to nursing science and will receive a score of 75% or
greater on the nutritional content. |

Performance Targets: Primary Performance Target: The group average of the NURS 1101 students on the
questions covering the nutrition content will be 75% or higher. Secondary Performance Target: Comments from student evaluations will indicate that the
content was covered in a manner that provided an understanding of the
material. |

Summary of Data Collected
(Performance Results): Primary Performance Target: Students were given a nutrition lecture instead of
independent study for nutrition as it has been in the past. The test
questions on this content on test #6 were isolated from the total test score
and evaluated separately. The average for the 15 questions on the test was
72.27%. Secondary Performance
Target: Comments on student evaluations
indicated a need to continue with a class presentation on nutrition in NURS
1101. However, continued assessment, planning and evaluation of the content
were indicated. |

Recommended Actions: Primary and Secondary Performance
Targets: Continue to include a nutrition
lecture in NURS 1101. Explore ways to increase student comprehension. The
point bi-serial results of the nutrition test questions will be examined. A
different faculty member will present the nutrition content. This faculty
member will insure that the questions are related to the content as it
applies to nursing science. |

Outcome Assessment: Students will be tested on arterial blood gas content in test 1 of NURS 2204. |

Performance Targets: Primary Performance Target: The
average score of the test questions on arterial blood gas will be 75% or
higher on Test #1 of NURS 2204. Secondary Performance Target: Comments from student evaluations will indicate that the
content was covered in a manner that well prepared them to interpret ABGs. |

(Performance Results): Primary Performance Target: Students were given a lecture on ABGs. The questions
from this content were on test #1. These questions were isolated from the
test score and evaluated separately. The average for the 12 questions on was
77.67%. Secondary Performance Target Comments on student evaluations
indicated that the content was covered in a manner that prepared them well to
interpret ABGs. Attached are qualitative
comments from the ABG lecture. |
