Unit/Team Goal: The Library advances the academic mission of the college by providing access to knowledge and information resources and educating students, faculty, staff and community in the most effective methods of identifying and acquiring information resources to meet their curricular and research needs.

Expected Outcome: Patron Requested Materials will be received by patrons in a timely manner.

 

Outcome Assessment: Librarians at different sites will track the time for delivery of materials from

librarian to librarian. Survey patrons with written instrument at time of receipt of material.

 

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Target:

80% of Patron Requested Materials will be received by patrons within four days of the original request.

 

Secondary Target: 80% of patrons will be satisfied (indicate agree or strongly agree with the survey

question related to satisfaction) with the timeliness of the materials that they have requested.

 

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):

Primary: 95% of materials were received within four days of their request.

Secondary:  90% All of the patrons were satisfied with the timeliness of the receipt of the materials.

 

Recommended Actions:

The librarians have instituted a plan to replicate the satisfaction survey just before the fall midterms.

Unit/Team Goal:

The Library advances the academic mission of the college by providing access to knowledge and information resources and educating students, faculty, staff and community in the most effective methods of identifying and acquiring information resources to meet their curricular and research needs.

Expected Outcome:  Students will learn specific information in Library research workshops.

Outcome Assessment:

Track students completing bibliographic instruction (BI) workshops and their performance.

 

Performance Targets: 

Primary Target: 50% of students who attended the workshop will complete a workshop assignment.

Secondary Target: The students completing the assignment will achieve a 70 or above on

      the assignment.

Summary of Data Collected (Performance Results):

BI workshops were offered and taught on all campuses by librarians.  The classes included instruction regarding the information literacy and how to use the GALILEO and GIL databases, and the Internet.  After the instruction, a portion of those classes received end-of-class exercises produced by librarian(s) and/or instructor(s) The graded exercises were returned to the students to offer them feedback and additional instruction.

Primary: 75% of students completed the assignment.

Secondary: Total average score:  61.39

Recommended Actions:

Recommended Actions:  1) Librarians have begun a review process of the end-of-class exercises in order to determine if a standardized set of questions can be used on each campus.  2) Library staff have planned to target academic division meetings and send discipline-specific emails outlining services available. 3) A college wide committee has been developed for faculty to further assess information literacy
